today is going to be perfect for you. so yes, all the veterans day. >> festivities. you can go outside. enjoy it with the kids because the weather is just going to be beautiful. definitely warmer than what we normally see for this time of year. but we will take it and just enjoy it today outside right now we're live camera network this section our camera looking over the embarcadero it is quiet here in downtown san francisco and very clear, not a cloud in the sky. no fog. but it is chilly to start. but so we're going to see things warm up into the afternoon. it's all thanks to some high pressure that we're going to be seeing continuing to develop over the nexp couple of days. bringing us the warmer than normal temperatures and dry conditions. no rain in the forecast for the next couple of days. these are the chilly temperatures, though. so bundle up as you head out of the house 40's and 50's. these will turn into 70's, though, by the afternoon. so you want to have the short sleeves. if you are going to be outside enjoying just gorgeous weather. i'll have more details on the forecast coming up in just a bit. are back and thanks for that. all we're tracking your veterans day commute for you in the south
and we're going to start here because we do have an accident northbound one. oh, one. >> at oakland road. so we have seen a slight delay as you're traveling in the south bay. the only highway at this hour that i'm tracking and the south bay and has any delays heading into the city from the east bay. a little under 2 minutes. the meteor lights still off at this hour. 5, 1880 also moving along no major issues over there. headed across towards the peninsula. you can make the drive in a little under 13. and if you are taking bart is a 20 minute delay at daly city. that station on the san francisco line in the antioch in dublin direction. we'll have more on that coming up with daryn james, back to you. thank you, ray. >> so one of our top stories that we're following this morning is the fact that more violence has erupted in oakland factor been 3 different shootings in just a 12 hour span crown for has been following this with sarah stinson. the latest shooting happened at 1 o'clock in the morning. but like we said, there were others before that has a lot of people concerned. so let's get the very latest from her. she's in the news right now with an update. i
sarah. >> all right. james, police chief has nonstop in talking about the major efforts and the need to reduce gun violence. but here we are, unfortunately reporting about 3 more shootings happening in oakland during that span of time. take a look at this map along to show you clearly where shooting was. it looks as though as you keep going. south another shooting happened. a violent 12 hours in oakland. the latest shooting, the the latest one happened. it happened in front of lake merritt at 1420, lakeshore avenue video video from the scene shows investigators surrounding a white suv dozens of yellow evidence markers could be seen scattered everywhere. someone was shot in the head around 1250 this morning. >> the person was rushed to the hospital. we don't know the condition of them right now. but the scene might be active. still. we're still trying to confirm that with the oakland. police definitely just avoid that area, though, investigators were still arriving road for this morning. the next shooting
happened around 9.30 last night on 97th avenue and a street just down from the oakland zoo about a mile and half from the oakland zoo is to give you some perspective. oakland. police say a person was shot multiple times and taken to the hospital. investigators are trying to figure out who the shooter is. the motive. of course, that's the case with all of these. lastly, a woman was shot downtown oakland in front of the fox theater happened during. >> broad daylight. you can see right there to 30 in the afternoon on the 1900 block of telegraph avenue. the woman was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive. police have not released any other information about this shooter fox theater canceled its concert last night because of the shooting. now this investigation of course, is ongoing. oakland police in the meantime on facebook the other day. they said instances of gunfire this month are up from november. first to november 7.42%. up this year. police have recovered 1017 firearms,
local police say they're working as a community to reduce the level of violence in oakland. but of course you're still seeing seeing that gun violence. the department actually encourages residents and business owners to install security cameras as well as alarms saying these types of technologies. >> both deter crime and also help solve crimes after they happen. this morning. i'm here in the newsroom trying to get you the latest details about every shooting that happened for now we'll send it back to you in studio. all right. thanks for the update. sarah. >> it is 6. '05, and another big story that we're following today. a teacher's aide is hit and killed by a car near an elementary school where he was % helping teach this morning. the educator is for a positive role model on kids in kron, four's. camila barco is live in san francisco with more details coming up. >> that that has been identified as andrew zemin. we're standing at the corner at the intersection where the crash happened and at the site this morning, there's a growing makeshift memorial, as
you can see, to honor the educator. and this is just a few steps away from where he worked. now this map gives you a better idea where the crash happened. zemin was struck at the intersection of union and yesterday morning. it's ore 8 .- unclear what happened moments before. but you take a look at your screen. here's a better view of the area when officers arrived to the scene, they found 2 cars involved in her back. >> and the man on the for how they help to revive him. but he died at the scene. school is out for the day. but sherman elementary principal is going to gather students tomorrow morning. she is letting kids know one of their beloved educators is not with them any more. and the school is also providing grief counselors in a statement to parents, students and staff. the school's principal says, quote, andrew talked from the heart. he was patient and kind and always a positive role
model. i am sure you will join me in offering our deepest condolences to his family and friends. now again, back out live here again. back out live here. you can see there's the memorial for andrew zemin. there's lit up the candles. and this is all to honor the educator. according to city data, there were. >> 6 traffic crashes at this intersection between 2016 to 2020 and andrews inman is the 12 pedestrian to be killed just walking the streets in san francisco this year alone. darya james, back to you. >> thank you very much. >> after a 2 year investigation. belmont police have arrested 4 people in connection with the murder of this 17 year-old mohamed off minutes. his name in his body was found and the parking lot of central elementary school in january of 2020 police say that the suspects knew him. it
took multiple law enforcement agencies to make the arrests of the 4 people. 2 of the ban. our 23 year-old ruben gonzalez mcgee on he's from indiana and then antonio valencia is from conquered. the other 2 suspects have not been identified because they're both minors. no word on a possible motive, though james. >> also happening today. we have ceremonies to honor bay area veterans on this veterans day is going to be a whole bunch all around the bay. one of the biggest ones will be out danville and that's where we find kron four's will tran standing by. still waiting for that helicopter to arrive. will good morning. >> james. i just heard a story about your grandfather and i know you live out in these neck of woods that wanted to come out it we can meet at 9 o'clock. will you still working at 9. but how about noon? i'm sure it's going on because you can see the building right behind me. they are getting ready. it's almost like, you know, they got away for the sun to come up and then bring up the world war 2

>> 6.14 is the time. and on the peninsula, the tragic death of a local boy who was swept out to sea has now inspired new safety measures along the san mateo county coast in january. 12 year-old to ruin a proof. see drowned when a sneaker wave pulled him into the ocean near half moon bay. the boy's family has fought ever since then to raise awareness about the potential dangers of bay area beaches and now new safety systems are in place include life rings safety information and warnings about the hazards of the ocean. >> flynn. these these first 3 stations that have been solved will will save lives. it will inspire the communities along the coast to do something similar bc as a stepping stone. >> to create more about this issue. there are the accident we want educate the crypt and from. >> yeah, these lifesaving stations are part of a larger pilot program in the hope is that more will be installed in other areas all along.
california's coast. >> take a look at this. scuba divers are making progress cleaning up lake tahoe. this project started several months ago where scuba divers go into the water and look at what they pull out a bunch of trash in this is from both the bottom and just along the shoreline. they found all 18,000 pounds so far still weeding through it and separating it out. and they're at the west shore. that's where they've made it to now in this process donations from several groups have made this possible is a different kind of deep sea diving. you know, than pulling out fish pulling his trash for the rewarding. oh, yeah. for all those folks are taking part. >> helping keep tahoe blue is upper sticker says i wonder if tahoe will be getting are more snow anytime soon, perhaps next week. >> immediately, though, we've got great weather. good morning. we're back >> yeah, guys. no snow in the forecast for over the next couple of days and even into the weekend. so they're going to have similar weather as to what we're going to be here.
so they're going to be a little bit above average for this time of year. and it's exactly what we're going to see here around the bay area. but if you are going to be getting away heading to high country. this is going to be a forecast, beautiful. lots of sunshine looking at highs into the 60's through the weekend. some just beautiful there. and just a gorgeous time to go for this time of year before it starts to snow and get chilly that good stuff just enjoy some of that sunshine fort switches over a little bit closer to home outside right now. a lot of clear conditions here. we're seeing a little bit of clouds here and there. a little bit of scattered clouds but not too bad. this is our camera. on top of that east bay hills there overlooking of the bay and into san francisco. and it is a chilly start to your morning 40's and 50's that i'm tracking some bundle up. you're going to want to as you make your out of the house this morning. but then once we get into the afternoon, things are going to change. and get warm or not. it's all thanks to high pressure that we're going to be seeing a sticking with us through the weekend.
it's going to bring us so warmer than normal temperatures for this time of year and a whole lot of sunshine to enjoy and dry. we're not expecting any rainfall. it's going to steer clear of the bay area and remain well north of us. folks in washington and oregon are going to start hitting those a chillier temperatures and the wet weather through the weekend and we're going to enjoy nothing but sunshine and dry conditions in fact, temperatures today that we're expecting that to top out into the 70's in some areas. if you can try to head outside and enjoy this afternoon. 70 degrees in oakland and downtown san francisco, high of 73 if you're going to be and the san jose area and how long is this going to last looking ahead. we're going to see it through much of the weekend. these temperatures are going to be sticking around saturday and even into sunday and then we're going to start to see things change as we get into next week. i'll have more details on that just ahead. reyna rebecca, thanks to that. we do have a major bar delay. if you're traveling on the san francisco line. >> in the dublin pleasanton direction because of equipment

morning. jesse. >> good morning, daryn. james, i wish i had a specific answer for you, but something that the president keeps on emphasizing is that these congested ports should really signified that the nation is rebounding economically. but even though more americans may have more money in their pockets. they still have to spend more too. >> very soon. we're going to see the supply chain start catching up with the man. president biden offered his 1 trillion dollar infrastructure plan as an eventual solution to the nation's backlogged ports and rising inflation, everything from gallon of gas, a loaf of bread cost more forced the bill invests 17 billion dollars in ports to cut congestion address repair and maintenance backlogs and install new technology. products moving faster and less expensively from factory floor through the supply chain to roam. the president also announced more immediate fixes, more ports around the country will operate nonstop along with companies like

is the time california's attorney general rob bonta was in san jose as part of his ongoing series of roundtable discussions to try and address. >> hate crime in our state. andy met with elected and community leaders to try and
identify concrete solutions to what he calls an epidemic of hate after the number of
reported hate crimes climb more than 30% last year. bonta has established a racial justice bureau in his office. but he says that more work needs to be done both in terms of reporting and preventing hate crimes. >> feelings of hate turn speech turned to hate incidents on the way to becoming hate crimes. there are many places in between where we can intervene and prevent hate from getting to that place. >> you're about to says that over half of all hate crimes in california aren't identified or investigated as such suggesting that a lot more work needs to be done. >> it's 6.25 right now. communities on edge in san francisco there. 3 shootings in the haight ashbury neighborhood recently at town hall was held where neighbors shared their frustration
over these recent crimes and those crimes including attempted burglary at central park neutral marker natural market. >> late saturday night, a couple of others to yell. last week. one man was killed, another person critically injured and on october 22nd. >> another person was critically injured in a

who can make it through morning that there's a big story that we're following in count. >> yes, because we've told you about this covid outbreak among the athletes. now the football team is making sure that everybody understands and follows the safety protocols. yeah. that was the issue because clearly some people were following them. in fact, 44 members of the football team now have tested positive. >> berkeley's health officials say the players they weren't getting tested when they got sick, they weren't staying home when they were sick and they weren't wearing mask indoors when they should have that'll do it, that they're calling it confusion over the protocols. and now the head coach is saying. >> everybody is going to follow the rules. >> i don't envision this being a long-term. issue. you know, next year in the year beyond not to say that it's going to go away. but maybe that we're in a better place. i think moving forward. everyone is very clear about you know, the protocols that are in place. >> going forward. what is expected? you know. >> so according to the team to members are not vaccinated at all. and this weekend's game
against usc has since been rescheduled to december 4th the next team that they'll play is stanford. that will be on november 20th. but again, that's if they can feel the team left >> it's 6.32 right now and leaders on a federal, state and local level are all pushing for people to get vaccinated. before we get towards the holidays and start gathering more and more santa clara county health officer doctor sara cody talked about this at this news conference saying that a lot more people are eligible for booster shots in the counties and they probably realize because you don't have to just be over 65. you can be 18 or older as long as you have any type of underlying health condition or if you live or work in a high-risk setting. this actually applies to a lot of people. >> underlying medical conditions include everything, including depression anxiety. hypertension, diabetes obesity. there are very few of us who don't fall into one of
you know, meet one of those eligibility criteria. >> doctor cody says more than a million residents in the county are eligible to get a booster. and so far only about 20 of them have done so. i started 20% right. >> all right. governor gavin newsom, by the way, says that he and the state's top health officials are doing everything they can to avoid what we saw last winter when cases rose dramatically and hospital icu beds got filled up incredibly fast after weeks of decline. the bad news is that california's covid numbers are beginning to rise again. and that is causing some concern. >> we are concerned about the winter. we're concerned about rising case numbers pressure on our hospitals from a number of other issues on top of covid winter's coming. >> yeah. governor newsome has also pressed about a new daily mail. it was was pressed, i should say, about any daily mail report that alleges that he had a bad reaction to his booster shot and the article claims that that is really why
he didn't make any public appearances in the last 2 weeks and why he canceled his planned trip to the recent climate conference happening in scotland. well, the governor pushed back denying those reports and reiterated again that the reason he canceled his plans to go was because he in the end. but to the wishes of his children. they wanted him to stay home for halloween and celebrate as a family and decided that was more important. >> santa rosa police are looking for suspects who are responsible for an armed bank robbery. this happened at the west america bank on guerneville road both the venue. see here. only hardly see them and they really covered up, but they were carrying handguns. they tied up 4 bank employees. >> they didn't get into the fall, but they did take money from the bank and now there's a cash reward. >> for information that leads to their arrest. >> investigators raided the home of the former mayor of windsor dominick for poli. he resigned this year. amidst allegations that he sexually assaulted her attack nearly a dozen women sonoma county
sheriff's deputies raided his home yetterday and they took several personal the investigation is looking into claims against him made by women in kron 4 spoke with the attorney representing 7 of those victims and they say the news is having an impact on this one. >> i would say this is at least a positive trigger. >> in the sense of there's validation. and a sense of my gosh it's finally movie. moving. we might actually get this is been a long investigation. and certainly this is a step of progress in the right direction for them. hopefully has had no comment. >> it is 6.36 to the east bay now where hayward police say there is one less catalytic converter theft or thief in their city in fact, take a look at the pictures you see behind me here are you that you see on your screen, i should say a man was arrested for possessing stolen rims and catalytic converters. and he's now the primary suspect in several recent other catalytic
converter thefts in hayward as well. police found him in a car filled with the stolen items catalytic converters and also equipment used to basically tear them out from the nice cars. >> in the photographs that are pictured. there are. several different brands that long to a car. a few catalytic converters, a replica handgun was kind of that orange tip as well. cutting device, which thing is just like a burglary tool us. take must machine that can quickly cut out the talent. converters. >> yeah. during the pandemic. police across the bay area reported an increase in catalytic converter thefts in there targeted, for course, the fact that they contain precious metals, which is where thousands of dollars. former raiders player henry ruggs has been formally charged now with 4 felony counts of dui and reckless driving. we are also hearing now new 911, audio from someone who live nearby the crash scene and he describes now the moments after hearing
that crash. >> i live in the house on the street. there's a lady screaming for help in us. lamborghini trapped. that i want to say that every game was probably speeding or mean. i heard you incredibly at loud noises and then to create the >> now police say ruggs was driving upwards of a 156 miles per hour just before that crash that killed 23 year-old tina tent or and her dog. ruggs was not in court yesterday. he had his lawyers appear on his behalf. he is on house arrest right now that has been ordered by the judge to be tested for alcohol. 4 times a day. and as part of his bail conditions. he was also ordered to surrender his passport. 2 defense attorneys and he cannot drive. if convicted of these charges, he could face more than 50 years behind bars. >> the prosecution in the trial of kyle rittenhouse
could be in jeopardy now. there was a drastic day in court in wisconsin yesterday. rittenhouse's you might know is accused of killing 2 men and wounding a 3rd during rallies, black lives matter protest in kenosha, wisconsin last year. kelly be sun has more. >> i astonished. when you begin your examination by commenting on the defendant's post arrest silence. that's basically it's been basic law in this country for 40 years, 50 years. the homicide trial against kyle rittenhouse thrown into jeopardy lawyers asked for a mistrial over what appeared to be out bounds questions asked of rittenhouse by the prosecution on the night judge not immediately ruling on the request while, but stating his frustration sunday brazen. with me. >> you know very well. you know very well that attorney can't go into these types of areas when the judge has already ruled.

and it will clear out the fog. well and open up to a whole lot of sunshine into the afternoon. a breakdown of the highs today. we're going to be the 60's and 70's throughout san francisco downtown a high of 70. the sunset district 64 at the coast to be a gorgeous day, especially in half moon bay with all that sunshine, mostly clear skies and a 69 degrees for the afternoon high 70 degrees in millbrae today 72 for the high in burlingame and those 70's continue through foster city into san carlos woodside. you'll be at a high of 74 this afternoon. your south. his own covered in those 70's and very nice mild to warm conditions, downtown san jose 73 degrees along the east bay shoreline 71 for hayward and union city. those low 70's into dublin and into the livermore valley downtown oakland 70 degrees. there was creek, a little bit warmer at 74 brentwood discovery bay both in the low 70's this afternoon vacaville 72 napa. if you're going to be over the wine country. it's going to be gorgeous there with a lot of
sun and nice and warm at 71. you're north bay zone covered in the 60's and the 70's stinson beach a little bit cooler, of course, at 62 and san anselmo, a high of 74 these temperatures, these warmer ones for this time of year. going to be through the next couple of days through the weekend. as a matter of fact. and look at all that sunshine. the clouds are going to return a little bit on sunday and then cooler conditions that we're starting to track as we get into next week. but so far next 7 days a dry forecast is on tap 70's all over the map. that looks great for backup. we do have a hot spot. if you're on bart a major bar delay on the san francisco line in the dublin. >> and pleasanton direction because of an equipment problem. so you feel are taken bark. he definitely want to keep that in mind heading into the city right now under 14 minutes yesterday we had high winds along the bay bridge and the san mateo bridge. so drive times are up almost about. 25 minutes at this time. now we're under 14 5.80, moving along pretty nicely as well as

america project, an organization that identifies the remains of unclaimed veterans and brings them to a national cemetery. >> i had 3 veterans that i found in sonoma county that i brought over here in july of 20 and they were given their military honors. >> for these 3 veterans. these honors have been waiting for them for a long time. >> they had been sitting on the shelf for about 20 years. nobody had claimed them and i claim them. i become their last family. >> even though these veterans of maybe unaccompanied these headstones show that there's a person behind each name with the story and possibly a family but never got any closure. we have had some people come forward say my uncle. >> i had no idea it was my uncle is buried here. that's part of the reason ceremonies like this are held at the cemetery for families to get one last reunion it's just very heartwarming to know that they found someone. >> that probably was lost and what reunions may not happen
