arrest him. kron four's dan kerman live for us in san mateo tonight with more. dan. well, they say it's not an excuse. so his attorney says this is all because of the fact he has a secret addiction. >> to opioids something that started while he was on the job. and while he was injured on the job. it was at the san mateo rite aid where police were called wednesday evening on reports of a robbery in progress. >> police say they captured the suspect outside the store despite his attempt to flee the scene. we get a phone san mateo police officers. >> get out there quick fashion and they're able to apprehend a suspect while he still on scene. >> it turns out the suspect arrested for robbery and resisting arrest is san francisco police sergeant devan cole. this is video of them shot during a 2016 interview. a man has been a police officer for 27 years served with distinction. a real professional.
