no delays on bay area bridges. i will show you our travel times. you see traffic is moving pretty nicely. 27 minutes altamont pass commute 205 to 680. more smash and grabs, this time with thieves hitting southland mall in hayward. the robbery caused mass chaos and fear. many stores in the mall went into lock down with customers running to hide in the back of stores. >> reporter: robbers used hammers to smash glass cases and ran off with jewelry. you can hear workers inside screaming in fear. >> it was like glass shattering. >> reporter: witnesses say this was the tail end of a much bigger scene. >> i would say 30 to 40 from what i saw. after the main group rushed

out, we saw 15 to 20 scatterings after that. >> then some even came back in. >> reporter: these two women work near sam jewelers. they say some ds n into other stores and took off with shoes and clothes. >> we saw stores closing up and everyone panicking. i grabbed my girls and we barricaded ourselves in. >> reporter: multiple 911 calls came in around 5:25 just before closing time. most stores close at 6:00. police say robbers mainly targeted sam's jewelers. aside from collecting evidence, police parked in front of macy's and secured mall entrances. >> shaken up but glad to go home. >> it was really scary. you have people with no morals, no understanding for people's safety or lives or anything. it's disturbing.

>> reporter: police couldn't immediately say how much jewelry was taken. it was unear if this connected to the louis vitton robbery. >> it is organized crime. people have referred to it as looting. it's not looting. this is criminal activity that's organized, targeted hits like at the dispensary in my district. >> that was da lin reporting. no word on arrests. in the last 72 hours there have been at least four reports of major retail thefts across the bay area starting on friday in union square. saturday a group of thieves ran socked walnut street nordstrom. a security expert worries this could become a new normal for in person shopping. >> at what point do we say you can't come in unless you are

cleared? what that's going to mean, i don't know. certainly these department stores are having a big challenge now. >> walnut creek police arrested three suspects. they are reviewing surveillance hoping it will lead to more arrests. in the south bay crooks targeted at least one store. earlier in the day we saw a security guard stationed in the outdoor mall. one told kpix they are posting pictures of shop lifters to deter thefts. oakland's police chief planning to discuss the crime breaking out across his city. an out of control side show broke out saturday and hundreds gathered to watch the cars, cameras capturing someone in the crowd firing lots of gun shots into the air. no word on arrests or

citations. officers responded to several marijuana dispensary burglaries. during one a security guard shot a suspect who was then taken to a hospital. police ended up taking two other people into custody in that case. a short time later officers responded to a second break in at a dispensary and this time showed up in an armored truck. police are investigating a deadly officer involved shooting from last night where they say a suspect rammed a stolen car into the officer's patrol car before police opened fire. i am anne makovec at the live news desk. new information on the disaster at a christmas parade in wisconsin. five people are dead. around 40 are injured after an suv wentthrough yestday. shaw. police located onof ha also loc e that

around parade marchers and eventually hit a group of participants. we are hearing from a law enforcement official familiar with early findings of the investigation telling cbs news it appeared the suspect was taking off from another scene, possibly a knife fight, when this happened. they don't think it appears to be an act of terrorism but the fbi is involved in the investigation and we are keeping an eye on it. in the bay area a local group rallying to those killed in traffic accidents. it included a stop at the location where alameda supervisor khan. >> she was one of our community elders. i don't just mean that as an

it is a cold start. definitely bundle up as you are heading out. maybe put on that big winter coat. in santa rosa, 39 degrees. low 40s concord as well as for livermore, mid 40s for the south bay and san jose. satellite and radar view, looking at a strong ridge of high pressure in control bringing those mild conditions and that sunshine for today. checking temperatures, we are looking at 66 this afternoon along the coast in pacifica, 67 in san francisco around the bay, 70 oakland. peninsula, upper 60s to low 70s. 72 san jose, 67 concord, 68 livermore, 68 napa. you see as we head through futurecast taking you hour by hour, you see that sunshine. we were hoping for a few showers for tomorrow. that's not going to be the case. we are looking at maybe a few

clouds for your tuesday. sunrise at 6:57 and sun set at 4:53. looking to thanksgiving on thursday, it looks great, low 60s along the coast, low to mid 60s around the bay with that sunshine. here is the seven-day forecast and what you can expect san francisco, oakland, san jose, really looking at quiet weather over the next several days. we are looking at mainly sunny skies over the next days, temperatures take a tumble, a little bit cooler tuesday and wednesday and then slowly warming a bit by the end of our work week or at least end of the week here. really quiet weather, should not impact travel s at t wer in the bay area. let's check with gianna. it's starting to get slow through the altamont. >> it is. we are starting to see brake lights west bound 580 tracy from the 205 connector onto 580. it's getting a little bit slow for super commuters.

if you are ready to head gi you zooming in, you see a lot of yellow and red. it is getting sluggish. it is better past flynn, north flynn. the travel time is still green but now 31 minutes 205 towards 680. west bound 80 highway 4 to the maze, 13 minutes. no delays on highway 4. 101 is clear out of the peninsula. out of the south bay 37 minutes from hellyer to sfo. there is a north 101 at story road. it looks like activity is to the right side of the road way but we are on clocking slower speeds down to about 36 miles per hour. likely injuries reported in this crash and some activity as well. 280 looks good if you want to use that or maybe 87 to take you to 101. travel times are okay. even with the crash everything seems to be in the green. we'll let you know if anything

changes. bay bridge toll plaza is clear, no delays out of is of sioux falls the east bay. south 101 if comifrancisco that will take you about 19 minutes and travel time foe san mateo bridge, under 15 minutes 880 towards 101. we have that trouble spot on 101 in san jose. we'll keep a close eye on that. hidden kelp forests are home to variety of species providing protection from predators but they're disappearing. this is a climate driven catastrophe that if this was happening in our terrestrial forest it would be front page news every day. >> we will show you what's being done to restore the lost kelp. tune in for the hidden forest
