[ cheers and applause you made it. sounds good. well, guys, here's some good news today president biden said that he wants states to open up vaccines to all adults by april 19th, nearly two weeks sooner than his initial goal. [ cheers and applause or as biden calls it, operation early bird special [ laughter ] you know more people are vaccinated when pajamas sales go down and spanx go up. [ laughter ] [ applause ] yeah, this is exciting hopefully if we're all vaccinated on 4/19, we will be passing something else on 4/20 [ cheers and applause hey, what? oh, whoa, whoa, whoa what does that mean? hey, hey >> steve: hey. come on. >> jimmy: i read that 40% of adults in the u.s. have been vaccinated so now when you see someone without a mask, it is a fun game of vaccinated or idiot.

some sports news baseball season is under way and i saw that despite - [ cheers and applause i'm excited. despite warning from health experts, the texas rangers had a full crowd of more than 38,000 people for their home opener yeah, when they walked in all of the fans got a dr. fauci bobblehead that only shook its head no. [ laughter ] it was a strange game. it was the first time umpires were trying to get themselves thrown out [ laughter ] well, this is big. march madness has ended. and i want to say congrats to baylor for winning their first men's basketball national title. [ cheers and applause baylor played just like paul rudd's entire life, started off hot and stayed that way. >> steve: aw [ applause ] >> jimmy: happy birthday, paul of course, some of baylor's biggest alumni were in the game including our friends chip and joanna gaines. here they are. yeah, it was a big night for the gaines' family

>> jimmy: i always love seeing you, pal we have a lot to get into, buddy. you got a job during the pandemic, and not an acting job. >> not an acting job, no >> jimmy: you got a job at a a restaurant >> yeah. >> jimmy: explain this to me and why did you do that? >> so, well, over the summer during the pandemic, there were a couple of restaurant near where i live in new jersey that were open because they all had outdoor seating. >> jimmy: yeah >> and so, both of my siblings got a job at this place, a a couple of my friends did, some of my cousins so everybody i have ever hung out with, everybody i have ever known and met and talked to. and i was sitting on the couch one day and my brother was like, "i'm going to work, i'll see you at like 11:00. i was like, "okay. and he leaves, and i'm playing "mario kart" and i'm still playing "mario kart. >> jimmy: yeah >> and after a while i'm still playing "mario kart. and so, i got really good at it to the point which was just i knew it was sad. [ laughter ] i'm like, "wow, i'm good, i

need to stop." >> jimmy: i got to stop, yeah. >> and so i was like, if they're all leaving and they're the only people i know, i might just follow them i might just go with them, and so i did >> jimmy: so you got a job >> yes >> jimmy: -- at this restaurant >> yes >> jimmy: what did you do? >> i was a food runner i stood at the line, and then, when orders were up, i just brought them to tables >> jimmy: and did people freak out? >> sometimes, yeah [ laughter ] >> jimmy: hey, what's going on >> i had like a disguise, i was like incognito, which was fun. i had like the restaurant shirt on, i had a hat that for the restaurant i got to tuck all my hair into it and i had one of the sleeve masks, the one you pull over your whole face. and i just tucked that into the hat, so just my eyes -- it was just my eyes, and people still recognized me. i would go to tables and drop food and be like, "there you go, enjoy. i wouldn't even let them hear my voice and people would just look at me for a second, squint like that and be like, "are you gaten matarazzo? so 3-year-olds, like toddler people >> jimmy: wait, three -- >> yes >> jimmy: i'm so sorry

but maybe, you know -- maybe you would release it in segments by the time they get to see it, they will be four or five years old. >> yeah, at the rate we're going, they might be 12. >> jimmy: yeah, perfect -- all right, good. i want to talk about this show on netflix that you executive produced >> please. >> jimmy: "prank encounters. >> "prank encounters." >> jimmy: i remember a show growing up called "candid camera" and it was a fun show, it was family friendly, it's, like, an old woman would be sweeping, then you'd walk by and she'd like tap you on the butt, and you're like, that happened, people would laugh and it's great >> it's great. >> jimmy: what you do. >> not like that [ laughter ] >> jimmy: no it is scary and it's hilarious to watch people's reaction getting scared >> it is >> jimmy: do you get scared in a way that people might hit you or something >> every time i get up and know i have a prank later that day. they take sometimes two, three hours to film the whole thing, so you're waiting there for a while, and then, you go in for a two-minute reveal, which is like 30 seconds of "that's cool" and 30 seconds of, "dude, please don't deck me in the head." because i'm so scared because i

think if i get punched, i don't really have a defense. i kind of deserve it at that point. [ laughter ] >> jimmy: no, no >> if i'm scaring the actual crap out of, like, a bunch of people, which i've done a bunch on this show, i ought to go in there and i would be like -- >> jimmy: yeah, i saw that one coming but i mean, dude, what are people's most common reaction when, when -- because i have seen a few episodes and there's giant reactions. >> usually, the reveal is great. it is big, it is lively, but throughout the prank -- we condense them down to like 20-minute, half hour episodes and like a three-hour prank. you are getting the highlights pretty much because it is a lot of waiting around, especially because we prank two people in one prank. >> jimmy: yeah >> that's what we do, we get two people, we see how they interact with each other while the actors around them are as useless as possible to a really scary situation. we like to see if they step up and try to be leaders, and usually they do, which is really cool. and i think it says something. yeah, usually, if there's no other options, people will step up, and i think that's really cool >> jimmy: that's right
