that international tourists will come back to the u.s., california, and san francisco. j.r. stone, abc 7 news. >> cvs farms -- pharmacies began giving shots today to children ages five to 11. walgreens, walmart, and cvs started accepting online appointments for young children following the green light from the cdc on tuesday. walgreens started administering pediatric doses yesterday. cities across the bay area are providing free vaccines to kids ages five to 11. in san francisco, a vaccination clinic children was held in the excelsior neighborhood, the city is going to require five to 11-year-olds to present proof of vaccination to get into indoor businesses. in the north bay, organizers say this county run clinic at miller creek school gave out 1000 shots to kids ages five to 11 this weekend.

a vexing clinic was also held at canal alliance, a nonprofit outreach for low income and immigrant families. santa clara county launched the first of many on-campus vaccination clinics thursday. it is using a fax fan in an effort to get children ages five to 11 vaccinated by january. alameda county says community clinics will begin vaccinating children by mid-november. if you have questions about covid vaccines, you can always ask our team. they are dedicated to getting you answers, just had your abc7news.com/vaccine and click on that big blue box. it is going to be a stormy start of the week in some parts of the bay area. taking a live look at the golden gate bridge, where the roads are looking dry, but by this time tomorrow we will be dealing with rain and wind as a strong storm moves through.

southbound 888, when the car was struck by gunfire saturday afternoon. >> people are shooting each other on the freeway. >> little jasper was rushed to oakland children's hospital, where he died from his injuries. this dashcam video was taken, and it shows police investigating that chaotic scene. >> we heard shooting, and when we heard it was a child and all, it is just heartbreaking. >> the child was likely caught in the crossfire of a freeway gunbattle, saying that evidence collected on the north side may indicate the victims were not targeted, and the child passenger was struck by a stray bullet. the family told us off-camera they want those responsible to surrender. oakland city councilmember was outraged. >> the reality is this is insanity. i see it every morning. that gang has -- activity has

a fuel leak is suspected to have caused this small plane to make an emergency landing near stanford today. the plane took off from palo alto's airport. the pilot but the plane down in a wide-open field at an equestrian facility in woodside at noontime. neither pilot nor passenger were hurt, the plane was not damaged. a police patrol vertical hit a mountain lion on a highway in and matteo, it happened yesterday as an officer was driving past the hillsdale boulevard exit. the video shows a smudge on the cruisers push bars left behind in the aftermath of the crash. the officer hit the brakes, but it hit the cat. the officer was unable to find a mountain lion after impact. the car was damaged, but the officer was not heard. to the south bay now where viva calle returned to san jose

today, part of a citywide program to get people to enjoy outdoor spaces after covid-19 closures. several miles of san jose streets were closed to cars, residents could walk and bike, as well as gate and play in the street. and activity hubs were set up. the cities parks and rec's department is planning more similar events for next spring. good thing this event happened to to -- today. drew: the rain comes tomorrow night into early morning. francisco, the bay bridge, a dry picture tonight. this time tomorrow it's going to look very different as rain moves through and strong, gusty winds pick up as well. under partly cloudy skies, temperatures are plummeting, it is getting chilly out there, widespread's -- 40's in many

by 11 p.m., scattered to heavy rain showers, gusty winds. that wind advisory. tuesday morning at 6 a.m., the heaviest of the rain is out of fear, but we will still track scattered showers. mid-day tuesday the storm is out of here. rainfall totals, monday night and tuesday morning, highest totals will be in the north bay. a lot of cities will exceed an inch of rain. around the bay, at quarter to three quarters of an inch of rainfall once the storm is wrapped up. these winds will be racing out of the south. by 10 p.m. tomorrow, gusting anywhere from 35 to 45 miles per hour continuing into the early morning tuesday. a wind advisory will be in effect at 7 p.m. monday. try not to park your car under a tree. you can see some tree limbs coming down, even scattered power outages.

he was likely brought in the crossfire of a gun battle, and was not the target of a shooting. police are still searching for suspects. >> we have seen the trend of covid testing from this year to last year, the holiday surge with people getting together, we may see the same increase as last year. >> state health officials are worried that we could be on the verge of another potential winter surge. cases are up from where they were two weeks ago, and hospitalizations are up. those numbers are reminiscent of last november. officials say winter months hold a significant risk, as indoor gatherings increase for the holidays. the u.s. to reach a vaccination milestone today, 70% of americans over 18 are now fully vaccinated. vaccinations could soon be required for 100 million u.s. workers if an appeals court ruling is overturned. here is reporter --

>> after being canceled by the coronavirus pandemic, the running of the new york city marathon was held on sunday. but this year's race looked different. the field was cut by 40%. runners had to show proof of vaccination or a negative covid test within 48 hours of the race. covid vaccines are not just required on marathoners, on thursday, the biden and estrogen announced calling covid an occupational hazard. nearly 100 million u.s. workers will be required to have proof of vaccination by january 4. >> it is important we take every measure possible. it is good for people's health and the economy. >> a federal appeals court blocked the new rule, questioning its constitutionality. the justice department is vowing to defend the mandate. 27 states have filed lawsuits

dion: president biden will be taking a victory lap after the house approved his trillion dollar infrastructure acid friday night raid on wednesday, the president is scheduled to travel to maryland to visit the court of baltimore. he will explain how his deal will upgrade the nation's ports. this comes as ports in southern california are struggling. the infrastructure package also includes the single largest investment in the nation's roads, bridges, rail lines and airports in decades. pres. biden: you can see the effects of the bill probably starting within the next two to three months. dion: during his appearance, biden is expected to campaign

for his human infrastructure, social safety net, and climate change bill. it is facing stiff opposition from republicans and moderate democrats. more than a half-century after he was kicked out of the service for being gay, the u.s. navy honored san francisco supervisor harvey milk in a big way today. the navy christened one of its newest festivals -- vessels named after the slain civil-rights pioneer. the uss harvey milk is a supply ship that has been under construction the last two years. he served in the navy during the korean war. supporters say the ship will send a strong message of inclusion to everybody who believes in freedom and justice. the san francisco bay will bring back a popular route for the very -- area between alameda and san francisco. this route was suspended during the pandemic but is coming back tomorrow. the water transit authority is
