country is in the abyss trying to claw out, we want to special hour to talk with you, about what we can codo about it -- can do about it, where we are, i thought who best to discuss this with me, that is american marxism than pete hegseth. >> thank you, i'm beyond humbled to be here. i'll tell you this, when american marxism arrived in my mailbox, you can ask my wife it was like christmas for me. >> thank you. >> phenomenal read. his that same feeling we're not looking at the abyss but we're in the middle, surrounded. you use the word marxism for the first time in a title in your book. i will dive in for a second to a portion on fox and friends i talked about how i would like to
ask a hundred questions. page 251, you talk about washington reading payne's word at battle of trenton, our challenge today, speaking of 1776 is just as crucial, urgent and more complicated. in truth, like early days of revelationary war, we are losing. most of the country has been caught flat footed and remains unengaged. this book feels like your attempt to get people unflat footed and leaning forward, how do they do that. mark: pete, the problem is, i sound self serving when i tell people, please read the book, if you buy the book, just pass it to someone else, have them pass it to someone old or the library. there is a lot in the book, it
is not to overwhelm but to explain. whether a political operation or a military operation or a business plan, we need to know who our enemy is. i don't say opponents, these are people who want to take down this country. and they are well along the way. we see this, not just critical race theory but so many other ar aspects of our institutions. things you never in your lifetime would think or see. the turn on television, you hear the propaganda the media is mouth piece for the various movements, i said, i have to look into this, i have written a lot of books, this does not smell right, i used to call it statism, progressivism, it is marxism.
these are hyrbrid forms of marxism. americanized forms of marxism. tailored to our country our system. not pure marxism in every technical sense but it is marxism. they say they are marxists, who founded it. it their original may be mission statement, it is filled with marxism. it is anti-american. anti-semitic. climate change used to be crime climate cooling or warming they found a phrase they could use to mask -- >> ambiguous. mark: this is a anticapitalist degree movement, that is why the first act that president biden took was to shut down a oil pipeline, it was not causing
pollution, they will attack energy, energy is who provides and serves the engine of our economic system, making everything el possible. -- else possible. you control energy, you control everything. so, what can we do about it? i have a chapter on that. >> that is what i love. mark: the first 6th chapters explain the movements, where did they come from, what to they stand for? i think it is bullet proof, if you are attacking me for calling it marxism, you need to attack the professors, scholars, i cite them, i quote them. i comment on what they are doing, we need to know who they are. we need to know what they are doing to be able to deal with them. >> i started with what do we did about it, that is part of what making this book so special and different, not just problem
identification. it is here we as patriots need to do something about it with direct reverends and direct opportunities to do it. kudos for that next step, for folks watching that is another reasons to get it, you can be engaged. it could be the beginning of a movement of a reckoning. there something in reading about it marx, what has been so enduring with that philosophy, if promises heaven but delivers hell it persists nonetheless, why? mark: a very good question, i thought about it, i discussed it a little bit in the book. there are a couple reasons. as a general matter there are two groups that are -- attracted to marx, people who no not take
responsibility for their own lives. and they project that on to us. people who are successful, need to be dragged down. people who are happy, need to be sad. people who are productive, need to be less productive. >> sheer destruction. mark: what is what marxis about. destroy what is what was, it is all antihumanism, the world begins today. then the other group, power hungry people, fanatics who use liberty to destroy liberty, they are diabolical people, many are tenured professors, from elected from the state of vermont. they think they know how a
country should work. despite all of the examples of how inhumane marxism and its off chutes have been. just was not done the right way. >> it is hubris if they dent get get it right. mark: i think it is fanatic simp. they don't see a higher power. they see government as the power. and all about power. local democrat party today, it reflects this idea ol. ideology, it is all about power, they don't want to change the voting laws because concerned black people can't vote. i don't know where these people are who could not vote, where are they. what are their names, where are their lawsuits, there are not
any. they will use race. but what is the democrat party trying to do? trying to have permanent control. it wants to turn red states to blue states, if you nationalize the election process you nationalize the democrat party, does the democrat party care about the country, no. why do i say that? it attacks economic system, independents of judiciary it wants to pack supreme court, and u.s. senate, it likes electoral college when it means, and wases to destroy it when it loses, open borders, to import democrats, we know two-thirds come over from border vote democrats. >> unless they come from cuba, then may might vote republican. mark: right. jobe job does not care about what is going on, on the border, he does not even take the time
to see what is going on. he pretends they are not, you look at the attack onure our economic and energy system, what is that about. that? does that make sense. this is not about polar bears, this is about restructuring our society, so that centralized government of the bureaucracy and democrat party are in control. if this is not an american form of marxism, than what the hell is it. >> how did it seems like it cascaded so rapidly. there were patriotic democrats at forefront just decades ago that -- bill clinton making argument that era of big government was over, he was no conservative but he was no marxist. there has been a acceleration, is this a tip of iceberg they
have been working on. mark: both, they are cleansing their party, purifying their party. that is what they do, unlike other regimes they go out and kill people who disagree with them, within the party, stalin was good at that. pol pot. they are, good, i am not comparing us to, that this is american marxism, they are cleansing the party, with a couple so-called moderates in the senate. they -- trying to grath them drag them intothe system. i can't think of a time that democrat party was not marching in the same direction. it is really rare when that does not happy. you had people run for the house, who claim to be moderate they voted for pelosi, and voted
to impeach donald trump twice. to answer your question. it has been building for decades, but it has come to a head now. one of the reasons i think is because year after year the indoctrination in colleges and universities, you see what happened in journalism, it has changed it is out of the closet, people on cnn and on the big networks would never have made it. 40 years ago, i would have had responsible executives who said look, cut it out, i know we feel this. but we're destroying our brand as a free press. we do not have a free press, we have a free opinion. if you are leftist. but we don't have a press, we have propaganda mills, i spend a lot of time in book talk bag "new york times." >> maybe, we could dig into the
education piece that you write about. media. and then some of the key players, that were involved. there are names, people will know, and names that as i am reading i am learning. mark: we'll be right back. ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ deposit, plan and pay with easy tools from chase. simplicity feels good. chase. make more of what's yours. that delicious scramble was microwaved? get outta here. everybody's a skeptic. wright brothers? more like, yeah right, brothers! get outta here!

they wish to impose their attitude on people, it is the same with education, talk about academic freedom, there is no academic freedom it is more indoctrining today, and people, thanks to the virus, people watching the kid, they were introduced to critical race theory, they saw what they were teaching, and transgenderism became a movement, teaching my 8-year-old, and my 9-year-old if they are black they have no hope, and racism, you are teaching a white kid they have no hope because of all of that occurred in the past, and their fault and so forth. this is the sort of thing that john dewey would be proud of. let me ask you, do you know a

exploit. so race is beautiful. to exploit. given our history and the battles we had from civil war all the way up. they developed this theory, stanford law school, harvard law school, derrick bell, modified it from a marxist by the name of marcus . they developed critical theory, it started in law schools, says, all law is written by the dominant culture. victims, those who are pressed, minorities cannot get a fair break because the dominant culture writes law. pete: critical theory suggests that everything that exists need doing torn down. mark: that is right. bell, took this harvard law, apply it to race.
