sharpton is a fraud. pretends to care about the plight of people living in urban american while supporting policies that destroy urban american. without racial unrest, he has no identity at all. yesterday he and other liberals spent 2 hours at the white house meeting with joe biden about the horrors of state voting laws that target corrupt election practices with common sense rules. >> we live here today saying we will create the movement underground to protect that right to vote. this will be a summer of activism. a summer of getting back in the streets. >> laura: getting back into the streets worked out so well last summer for poor urban americans. >> [gunfire]. >> [sirens wailing]. >> [gunfire].

voting rights. he is lying which is a common trait among those who think anyone with a thumbprint should be able to vote on election day. no rules at all. the rhetoric dove to a new low when the urban league president took the mic. >> when we look at what is happening in this nation, we see an effort to impose a system of american apartheid. you suppress the votes. the elevate the filibuster and use the electoral college and the nullification of the supreme court to thwart the power of this grand and glorious
multi-culture nation. >> laura: it's not nullification because the supreme court hands down a decision you don't like. and obama and clinton and biden won under that electoral college you referenced or didn't they win? he urged a peaceful approach to this summer of action, we know that false claims of racism have ignited the streets going back to michael brown and ferguson and freddie gray in baltimore. remember in the george floyd killing, no evidence in court ever showed that derek chauvin's actions were motivated by race. you would not know that based on media coverage. race was used to cause more harm to the law-abiding people in
those community. democrats have lied about covid and the border. there is no reason that most americans should trust them to administer elections fairly. there is a long history of political corruption in this country. chicago was ground zero for this. back in 1982 the illinois gubernatorial race pitted a republican governor thompson against the democrat. thompson won the race by 5,000 votes. that prompted one of the largest vote fraud investigations ever conducted by the doj. it resulted in 62 indictments and 58 convictions. 100,000 fraudulent votes were found in chicago. in one case a punch had tabulated 198 times. you have a right to vote.
but you don't have the right to stuff the ballot box or bribe people to vote. the gop bills that have the left so riled up with all of this concern, they seek to end things like mail-in ballots and improve the role of poll watchers and prevent illegals from voting. how does this trip votes away from black americans? the answer is it doesn't. the same deal with the voter laws in georgia and florida. but biden sent out his untalented vice-president to do her best refer end al. >> these laws make it harder for you to vote because they don't want you to vote. your vote is your power.
don't let anyone take your power from you. >> laura: they never mention any aspects of the voting laws they oppose. >> if we lose ability to make sure that vote is counted we will never be able to vote for the candidates of our choice. >> laura: laws that mandate the cleaning up of vote roles like the ones that require clear voter i.d. they are not racially biassed. they apply to everyone across the board. to say otherwise which the sharpon charltons are doing is a lie. the fear mongering yesterday was
about the democrats saying in power no bad how the country gets under their leadership. they don't want to go to the people to defend their record on immigration or rising gas prices, schools or crime. they prefer to create a system where they can stuff the ballot box to guarantee victory. they will get cover from the media lapdogs and all of those donations to carry out the harvesting efforts. by naming their voting rights bill the for the people act, democrats insult the intelligence of american people. it's just another oxymoron scam and that's the "angle." joining me now is a congressman. all that republicans are trying to do is increase transparency
and make voter fraud harder to commit especially with all of these illegal immigrants coming into the united states this year. what is going on with all of these reactions we saw yesterday and today? >> well, it's quite simple. the democrat agenda sucks. if you have nothing to run on. if you can't run on the economy or rising wages or energy independent country or on secure borders, you have to foment outrage about voting. you have to get people in the black community to vote. the voting laws in arizona, georgia and florida give more access to the ballot. i have been voting in florida for the last 20 years. 10 years before i got into politics. nobody stopped me from voting. i never had any issue from voting. it was never a problem.
if we examine the truth about voting in the united states, it is not a problem for black people to vote. the democrats's ideas suck so they revert to nastiness about voting. >> laura: when you hear al sharpton and others talking about taking to the streets -- that's our constitutional right -- but when you claim that the republicans are doing is akin to apartheid in south africa and you can't vote if these laws stand, if this act is not allowed to pass, things could get hot quickly, could they not? we have seen this in other racially charged protest? >> you're absolutely right. that's why they are saying is disgusting.
add the vice-president of the united states to that as well. this is getting people upset for no reason at all. i would challenge any citizen of the united states including black america read the arizona and georgia and florida election bill when i voted on. those bills give you ample opportunity to vote. they do not strip away the ability for black people or hispanic people to vote. it stops third party groups that want to ballot harvest. it stops the outside groups that sharpton loves that gin up the vote. stops them from being out to spend million dollars from billionaires in our elections. >> laura: they don't just want to go to old folks home and roundup the votes and take them
to the vote counting centers. i fore see going to the polls. >> that's right they want to bring a chaotic election environment to the united states. california elections are a disaster. >> laura: or new york. >> yes, it's like a one party rule. the republicans can't win. >> laura: if you like the way they counted the votes in the mayoral election in new york. wait until this goes national am the new ground zero in the fight over voting rights. in texas. the state senate and house proposed bills to make it harder

lieutenant governor dan patrick. did i leave anything out? >> i am happy to debate any democrat on senate bill 1. senate bill 7 failed when the democrats walked out. tomorrow we will pass this bill probably tuesday next week. there is nothing this this bill that has anything to do with voter suppression. i am offended when any democrat says to me the republicans are trying to stifle their vote. it's not true. you never hear this, but here are the facts. when we passed photo voter i.d. in 2011, they said the same thing. what happened since 2011? texas has increased voting turnout more than any other state in the union. we have increased gubernatorial turnout 76% and in 2011, only
58% of registered voters voted. in 2020, 68%. we are leading the nation. beto o'rourke and castro lies about it. these are lies. this jim crow 2.0nonsense, if anyone understands jim crow it's the democrats because they held african-americans down decade after decade. >> laura: dan, what they say is if it wasn't broke, why are you trying to fix it? why put new provisions in place? your answer? >> here's the answer. one of the provisions is a paper trail on the electronic machines. everybody wants that. that's a new thing we are adding. that's making sure the count is
right. the second thing is that our voting machines won't be connected to the internet so they can't be hacked. democrats support that. everybody wants that. the two issues they bring up are 24 hours voting and drive in voting. it's never been in the election vote in texas. we have 254 countries and harris where houston is they created their own law. that's not how it works in law. we are not rolling back anything. we still have 2 weeks of early voting and added hours. there is nothing in this bill that suppresses votes at all. >> laura: they are trying to set it up so if republicans take the house next year they will call it illegitimate. you set the record straight for us. we appreciate it. what the cdc just announced about schools this fall is

europe has been in school for over a year. we still have schools in california where they are not teaching the kids in person. it's a crime against children. more children are dying from suicide than covid. you are more likely to be struck by lightning. you need lightning protectors on your child. >> laura: one mother said shaming a child on a medical decisions that ha to be unconstitutional. >> it's all based on dr. fauci ignoring the science. 100 million people had the infection. you asked them to the vaccinated people we are at herd immunity. every day the death rate is going down but dr. fauci refuses
to acknowledge natural immunity. it's what vaccine are based on. he wants every newborn to have a vaccine. no science. >> laura: when the senate returns to session you will challenge some mask mandates. tell bus that. >> yeah, i am introducing legislation that will get rid of the federal mandate. this happened by executive order by president biden. the airlines hide behind it. i am a frequent traveller. i am sick and tired of getting on the plane and instead of thanking me for buying a ticket they tell me they can go to jail if i don't wear a mask. or if you bring a drink aboard they will put you in jail for that. i want someone to thank me for
buying a ticket instead of telling me i will go to the jail. they hide behind the federal mandate. it's not us the airlines. it's the federal government. the airlines begged for this and begged for our money and now beging to continue the mandates. you are more likely to get it in your house than on a plane. >> laura: thank you. good to see you tonight. if you thought it was just the government mounting this medical pressure campaign, think again. the corporate media is there to lend a helping hand. one cnn political analysts demanded mandatory vaccines and argued there is too much focus on individual rights and not enough on the good of the collective. msnbc chief doctor said there needs to be a more dedicated campaign to shame.

door-to-door they have to kick it up a notch. last week it was my body and my choice. who was the cnn person who said that. it sounds like lenin. the collective good. just another pressure campaign. close your business or we will fine you. don't do this. fire him. censor him. i am tired of being nagged. at a certain point in your life you reach an age where the only people that should be able to boss you under are your boss and your spouse not necessarily in that order. i got the vaccine. not everybody needs to do it on july 4th weekend more people died of bullets than of covid. joe biden carried around that little card. he should carry the street violence card. that is more of a pandemic in
terms of a threat to your life than covid. >> laura: carry around a card with the adverse effects of vaccines on certain individuals. your new book, "how i saved the world," has an entire chapter dedicated to one of your favorite segmentes on "the five." mom texts. i want to read a few. this was in all caps: stop talking about your hair. other one said your hair looks great longer. i noticed you cut your hair. a rebellion against your mother. >> i did cut it. i don't want to talk about my physical appearance. you did notice those were all in caps. that means that was a very forceful text. >> laura: your mom sounds like
