their journeys. >> i think we have a model for this, under present obama we had the same situation in the beginning of the trump administration we have the same people come across the border massive numbers. president trump put in place a model that works, first of all don't come, too, he built a wall, three, he told people to stay in mexico before they went through their hearing and he also let border patrol do their job. i think that model, we know that it worked because the surge stopped and the numbers came down and with the old policies biden has him plummeted were back to square one maybe even worse. maria: i just wanted no why they overturn some of the policies you mentioned some of the policies that were most impactful, stopping the construction of the border wall. number two overturning remain in

what the public is forced to pay for and carry the bill, walk us through what you are doing. >> we had a history we had a thing called the public chart, it was not official for a long time, if you were coming to this country you should not expect this to put you on public assistance immediately. it was unofficial, the clinton administration put a rolece in place that made it more official and enforced it and trumped came in and added t aodded to that, h the administration -- the trump administration over the rule and now the biden administration has decided they don't want to stand by that so we asked the court to step in and defend that. this cost my state billions of dollars and cost the country billions of dollars if organ invite people in we need to make sure they can take care of themselves and that they're not going to end up on foodstamp the medicaid and healthcare insurance from our country.

maria: you make a really good point, we heard from a number of mayors in the mayors of border towns are completelyt overwhelmed, talk to that a bit. you're seeing the border towns and even towns in the interior of our country change completelw because of the surge of new people. >> it's very unfair to the border towns, a lot of them are smaller, even if they're not there 70 people coming across and 70 demand of their services especially with these children having to take care of these children and then you throw in a mix of coded and other diseases and they are overwhelmed and at risk of getting these diseases including coded and higher crime rates which is happening with drug related crimes and human trafficking in the young women being trafficked in the youngn boys being trafficked. it's a humanitarian disaster in the border towns are suffering nymore than others.

maria: is absolutely extraordinary. i want to talk about the broader agenda and we had senator ted cruz on last week who had just come back from his border trip and really exposed a lot while on the ground but he also connected what is going on in terms of immigration at the border, he connected that to the election bill that the democrats are putting forth. i know you are also pushing back on the radical agenda when it comes to big tech when it comes to the election as well when it comes to the xl pipeline, listee to ted cruz as he connects the dots between voting and the h.r.1 bill and the migrants. >> i think h.r.1 is directly connected to the border crisis. many are calling hr when the corrupt politician act because it's her number one priority to keep democrats in power for the next 100 years and one of the most dangerous things that the corrupt politician act does is

it automatically registers everyone to vote if you interact with the government. if you get a welfare payment, they get unappointed payment, if you get a drivers license, to go to public college or university, they know that will automatically register millions of illegal aliens. that is the intended purpose ofh the bill to have millions of illegal aliens and millions of criminals and felons automatically registered. maria: that was stunning, ag paxton, what do you make of that and tell us about h.r.1, is it a threat to democracy and what cat you do on the state level to stop it. >> calling it the corrupt politicians act is definitely clear that they are trying to register the illegals are crossed and register felons under this law and it certainlyy would benefit the democrats read if you notice a lot of these people are being placed in red states like texas and montana,

idaho which concerns me as well, there is no doubt that this bill would allow for current practices that have happened in other states or fraud in my state and many other states that are trying to protect against fraud and what ted cruz said is accurate. maria: it is extraordinary, you mentioned a moment ago that you're leading a group of 14 gop state ag's in this push to allow the supreme court to allow you to take over the defense of trump's policy which of course barred immigrants that were going to require governmentt benefits. i want you to go back for that for a minute and explain the cost, i don't other people understand how much this is costing. there is a new ap report estimating each child in custody is costing the government $775 a day. >> that's just the beginning because then we have to educate

them, we have to take care ofe their healthcare, we have to figure out their family situation, we have to deal with more law enforcement issues, cost the state of texas billions of dollars every time an administration like the obama administration, biden administration opens up the border and increases o our cost and we also have a social cost, the increased crime i wish president biden would talk to a couple of the families that have been affected by the crime lost loved ones by illegal immigration, it might affect him and hopefully it would affect him and give him a different perspective on the downside of these policies that are devastating from some of the families in my state. maria: real quick on the rest of the agenda georgia with the new voting law requiring voters to present valid id, i don't understand why the democrats are pushing h.r.1 which does away with having an id. you need an id to buy alcohol but they don't want to have an

maria: welcome back were talking with wyoming senator john barrasso republican conference chairman and senate committee on foreign relations. were just talking about the border crisis in the disaster there are reports of migrants, many migrants are being released into the interior of our country without a court date, i want to get your take on that and also ron johnson told me in one sector there was 40000 quote unquote got a ways, they got away since biden took office, the irony here is that were hearing a lot about joe biden

important things that biden did to overturn trump policies and in fact ino doing so because the surge at the border? >> certainly right, there's three majors that impacted the surge that we see now. i would add on to that, the fact that the administration is not enforcing the title 42 cdc public health order on minors is contributing directly to the surge that we see in minors today over five, 6000 and cbp custody we will see historic numbers of minors coming out of the country over the next several months because of the biden of administration specific measures not to employ that public health order for minors. remember this, they are using the public up authority to turnu around single adults and even using it to turn around some families who have minors. there even turning around minors back to mexico but they will not turn around minors back to the

triangle and put them on planes and reunite them with their didates which is what we during the trump of administration. this is having a significant effect on the surge that we see with minors and certainly the remaining mexico program or mpp is contributing to the surge that we see with family units in the country at least that's what the senator talked about. maria: it is so important to go through this and we know that joe biden carved out an exception for families that have minors and your 6-year-old or younger. just like that we see families a 6-year-old or younger but they're renting these kids. it's not even their kids, they're just trying to have the cookie-cutter that joe biden said he will lead in. >> what we know the cartel, smugglers and traffickers are very sophisticated and listen to public pronouncements and indoor policies and procedures.
